Voice's role in the Internet of Things

The connected car, the smart home - we've touched on M2M technologies a bit in some of our talks on Hypervoice - but the space is heating up quickly and voice should be a key part of the discussion.

ivee Sleek, the latest Kickstarter darling in smart home technologies, raised drastically more than their $40,000 goal, ending up with almost $160,000 from 901 backers.

Hypervoice Founding Partner Telefonica Digital did an episode of their Digital Futures series on what we can expect from the smart home of the future.

And looking at things beyond just the smart home, we discovered a sister consortium of sorts; The Internet of Things Consortium launched about the same time as the Hypervoice Consortium, but is dedicated to accelerating the development of the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem with a focus on interoperability and usability, data openness and security, and market development.

Given the potential for new technologies, as well as partnerships and integrations with existing tech, we expect this to be a continued hot topic in the world of Hypervoice.

We'd love to hear from you!  What's your dream for the smart home of the future? How would you like to use voice to interact with the Internet of Things?  Share your thoughts in the comments below.
