Martin Geddes

Co-Founder & Executive Director, Hypervoice Consortium

Martin Geddes is a consultant and authority on future telecoms business models and technologies. He is formerly Strategy Director at BT's network division, and Chief Analyst and co-founder at Telco 2.0. Martin previously worked on a pioneering mobile web project at Sprint, where he was a named inventor on 9 patents, and at Oracle as a specialist in high-scalability database systems.

He co-runs public workshops on Future of Voice and Telco-OTT Services, as well as providing speaking, consulting, training and innovation services to telcos, equipment vendors, cloud services providers and industry bodies. He is currently writing a book on the future of distributed computing, called The Internet is Just a Prototype.

Martin holds an MA in Mathematics & Computation from University of Oxford.

Kelly Fitzsimmons

Co-Founder, Hypervoice Consortium

Kelly Fitzsimmons is a serial tech entrepreneur with a passion for voice.  She has founded five startups – her earliest four in information security and her latest, HarQen, an Intelligent Voice Services company for which she serves as a member of the board of directors. 

In November 2012, Kelly co-founded the Hypervoice Consortium because she felt that the key to understanding next generation voice is answering the question, “Why is voice missing from the Web in a meaningful and persistent way?”  As a leading advocate for the emerging Hypervoice framework, Kelly will support the consortium’s mission of articulating and advancing standards, capabilities and potential applications for Hypervoice. 

Kelly received her BA from the University of Rochester and a Masters degree from Harvard.

Ane joined HarQen in 2010 and she also serves as Board President for the Bread of Healing Clinic, a free clinic in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was recognized as 2010 Woman Manager of the Year by Women in Management, Fox Cities chapter. 

Ane is passionate about using technology to help organizations identify, attract, and retain the right people for the right job. Her career experience designing recruitment strategies for Fortune 100 companies has given her invaluable insights on how technology can best be integrated into recruitment processes to hire the best talent, faster and more efficiently. 

In prior positions, Ane was President of LaserNet, Inc., a statement print/mail company, and Vice President at Pinstripe, Inc., where she played an instrumental role in the company's rapid growth in recruitment process outsourcing. Before joining Pinstripe, Ane held various leadership roles at Strong Financial Corporation, including Vice President and Director of Mutual Fund Administration. Ane started her career as an auditor with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) and graduated with a BBA-Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Jason Goecke is the co-founder, president and CEO of Tropo - which was acquired by Cisco in May of 2015. He is responsible for overseeing Tropo's overall strategic direction, planning and execution. Together with Cisco and their partner ecosystem, Tropo is creating a user-friendly collaboration platform as a service allowing customers and developers to create and sell new communications services with minimal development effort. Jason brings more than 20 years of international executive management experience in Cloud telecommunication services and Open Source application development. He has extensive experience working with carriers and enterprises around the world.

Prior to founding Tropo (formerly Voxeo Labs), he was a co-founder of Adhearsion, an open-source voice development framework provider.  He held leadership positions at Presence Technology, ProofPoint, Exigen and Genesys.  Jason also serves as an Advisor for several companies including Ericsson, Adhearsion Foundation, and Imbarco Ltd. He’s married with 3 children, lives in the Bay Area, and enjoys sailing.

Tracy Isacke joined Silicon Valley Bank in 2014 and leads the company’s Corporate Venture Relationship Group, which was established in 2009 to build connections between investment groups at some of the world’s largest companies and emerging technology and life science startups. 

As head of the group, Tracy is responsible for Silicon Valley Bank’s relationships with corporate venture funds, corporate development teams and innovation groups at Fortune 500 companies.

Prior to joining SVB, Tracy was EVP New Business Ventures at Telefónica Digital where she identified investment opportunities in Silicon Valley, Israel and Europe with potential to accelerate Telefónica’s business. She also drove an international Global Partner team to deliver unique partnerships and Direct-to-Bill opportunities for Telefónica across 25 operating businesses in Europe and Latin America. 

Tracy joined Telefónica in 2006 initially as Head of Enterprise Sales in the UK and then leading the acquisition of Jajah in Mountain View. She set up and grew the office in Silicon Valley and led the acquisition of San Francisco based TokBox, as well as several investments on behalf of Telefónica including Boku, Everything.me and Box and key partnerships including Evernote, Pinterest and Rhapsody. 

Tracy started her career at Xerox, rising to be one of the first female members of the UK Board. She then spent four years getting a taste of what life is like in an early stage company, working in a venture capital-backed start-up that went on to achieve a successful exit.

Born in the UK, Tracy has lived in Italy, Israel and now lives in Los Gatos, CA, with her husband and family. She has 3 children, 2 step children, 2 dogs and a cat.

Vish Nandlall is the CTO for Telstra and a highly regarded telecom visionary. Wireless World recently named Vish one of the "Top 100 Wireless Wave Makers" globally. 

Vish was the prior CTO for Ericsson in North America. While there, he was responsible for defining Ericsson's strategy and technology in virtual networking and in-building connectivity solutions, establishing novel open innovation processes to drive business and feature requirements in disruptive technology areas.

Vish started his career at Nortel Networks, during which he developed the industry's first distributed processing system for telecom applications, and pioneered high-availability technologies in shared disk computing. Vish was also responsible for early research in mobile IP networking and advanced edge router scheduling engines for real time packet delivery.

Vish is widely recognised for his contributions to the telecom industry, serving as a director and policy chair for TIA, as well as being a member of the FCC technology advisory committee under Chairman Wheeler. Vish is an active thought leadership contributor, most recently authoring a GigaOM featurette entitled "The 2020 Network".

 

james nolan

Executive Vice President, Research & Development

Jim is responsible for directing the development of advanced wireless, video and network technologies, including the incubation of advanced wireless communications solutions and their evolution to standards-based technologies, and the company's participation in multiple wireless, video, and network standards bodies. Since joining the company in 1996, Mr. Nolan has held a variety of engineering and management positions, including serving as the company's senior engineering officer since May 2006. Prior to leading the company's engineering organization, he led technology and product development of modems, protocol software and radio designs for multiple wireless standards. Mr. Nolan was named Executive Vice President, Research and Development, in April 2009, in connection with the company's decision to expand its technology development and licensing business. In January 2013, Jim’s role expanded as the head of InterDigital’s Innovation Labs organization where he is responsible for all internal advanced technology development and standards efforts. 

Mr. Nolan earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic University and an Executive Master of Business Administration from Hofstra University.
